I was lucky to have acquired my internship a while ago, and because of that, I am ahead and it is awesome. There's a lot of things that I'm looking forward to and I am ready to get this project started.
For my internship I will be studying law with David Brahms and the law firm that he works at.
My mentor is not entirely set in stone as of now because I have been given the opportunity to study different types of law with the different litigators that work in the firm. For the most part, my primary mentor, the one who confirmed the deal for me, is Mr.Brahms and he practices civil law. During my one month with the firm I will be doing all sorts of things. The thing that I am looking forward to the most is being able to sit in on the conversations a client has with the lawyer himself. This of course will have to be done with their permission, but I will still have the opportunity to do so. After sitting through that conversation, I will be able to discuss what I thought with David and he will teach me how to determine weather or not what the client said was accurate and how he could defend that claim. On at least one day I will be attending an active courthouse to observe the way that things are run and to see how a lawyer acts in his field when working. I am excited to be learning law because it may give me an opportunity to study it on my own one day. I am excited to see how things are run in a professional environment and to see what things are like in the field that I may want to study someday. I don't particularly know what I'm nervous about thus far, because I'm genuinely excited. I guess if there was to be one thing, I would have to say it would be enjoying it because I don't know if it's going to be all that enjoyable.
